The only way to keep your children safe in a city with a population of over a million is to keep them in a single room with no air conditioning.
It’s a basic truth, as well as one that’s become increasingly relevant as Japan has seen a rise in suicides, as the number of people who die by suicide in the country rises.
But while there’s been no shortage of research in the past few years that has found that living in apartments is linked to increased rates of depression and anxiety, there’s also been a push to try and make things better.
There have been efforts to make apartments more comfortable.
In 2010, Tokyo was ranked the worst place in the world to live, according to a study by the New York-based Human Rights Watch.
This year, the Tokyo government has started a program to help residents adjust to living in apartment blocks and a more spacious, green-filled environment.
And there are many others who believe that the problem with Japanese homes is not so much a lack of living space, but the lack of people to care for them.
“I’m sure that if there’s one thing that people can agree on it’s that Japan is a really bad place to raise a child,” says Sōichi Suzuki, the president of the nonprofit Childcare Center for Japan.
“In a society that’s more conservative than the United States, it’s really difficult to create a good environment for a child.”
But not all of those parents are looking to make a big deal out of their living arrangements.
Suzuki believes there’s a huge amount of support for the idea of living with a child in a new home.
It can help to look to the past, he says, noting that the Japanese people who died by suicide were all living in the same apartment.
For example, in 2003, an American woman named Maria Shinozuka was found hanging in her apartment.
She had been trying to take her own life for the past two years.
As part of the program, Suzuki, who is a Japanese American, hopes to see more people looking to do something similar.
He wants to see a push for the public to get involved in helping with the housing situation for those who live in an apartment.
“I think it would be a great idea to encourage the public and companies to look at this problem and make a real commitment to doing something about it,” Suzuki says.
“A lot of people in Japan are very supportive of this idea.
It’s also a bit of a problem because we have very few resources.”
Suzu hopes the idea will eventually become a more mainstream issue in Japan.
The problem isn’t unique to Japan, of course.
In the United Kingdom, more than 5,000 people a year take their own lives, according the Samaritans.
Other cities have seen similar spikes in suicide, with the number in London now nearly two times as high as the national average.
What’s clear is that it’s a problem that can’t be fixed overnight.
People are trying to live in apartments because they’re better places to live than they used to be, but that’s not necessarily the answer.
If you’re living in an older, more-affluent, more densely populated area of a city, you’re probably better off than the average Japanese household.
If you’re trying to make sure that your kids are getting a good education, you might have more problems than you think.
Still, a lot of experts are calling for action.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over one in 10 children in the United Sates live in a home where one adult is not the primary caregiver.
That means a child can have a very difficult time coping with school, work and school-related stress.
At the same time, a growing number of experts have also pointed to the fact that the housing crisis is not solely caused by an increase in suicides in Japan but instead is a direct result of a lack in affordable housing.
So while there are still plenty of reasons why people choose to live alone in Japan, there are also a few things you can do to try to make things a little bit better.
