Kaka has told his former club Real Madrid that they will be “very happy” if he decides to leave Barcelona.
The Portuguese international, who is in his third season at the Santiago Bernabeu, joined Real in 2013 from Atletico Madrid and has scored a total of 37 goals in his career, with the last of them coming in the Champions League last 16 clash with Bayern Munich in 2015.
Speaking to a Spanish newspaper, the former Manchester United star said he has had “the most enjoyable” season of his career so far, but that he had “no doubt” he would leave Real Madrid should he be unable to fulfil his current contract with the La Liga side.
“If the club want me, I’m happy.
It’s not a question of if but when,” Kaka said.”
I’m happy and I feel like I’m living in Madrid.
That’s why I have to be 100 per cent ready for the moment I get the chance. “
I have to prove myself.
That’s why I have to be 100 per cent ready for the moment I get the chance.
I don’t have any regrets.”
Kaka will have to wait until after the World Cup to sign a new contract, with Real Madrid’s financial situation also under increasing pressure following their exit from the Champions’ League last-16 tie with Bayern.
Kaka, 30, was also part of Real’s last-gasp comeback against Atletico in the Copa del Rey semi-final, but he was not involved in that contest as he was rested for the final.
