Akari, Arizona—An Arizona police chief is accused of sending text messages to his girlfriend that showed she was having sex, the Associated Press reports.

The AP said the text messages were sent between July and October, according to the complaint.

Akari Police Chief Dan Dolan, 43, was arrested on charges of violating the terms of his bond, the AP said.

He was arrested by police after his girlfriend was arrested for having sex with an undercover officer, the newspaper said.

Police said the undercover officer told Dolan she was in a relationship with another man.

They also said Dolan sent text messages that showed the officer had sex with his girlfriend.

He has been suspended without pay.
